Electroless Nickel (Eless Ni or EN)

The electroless nickel process produces a nickel alloy that can be deposited without an external power source. The result is a uniformly thick deposit all over the part's shape and size - a process not achievable through electrodeposited coatings. In addition, the finish is more durable as well as corrosion and abrasion resistant. In many cases, EN-plated steel can be used as a substitute for stainless steel. EN has a bright silver color and can be applied to a shiny or even mirror finish.

Uniform deposition makes EN desirable for plating irregularly shaped objects, holes, recesses, internal surfaces, valves, or threaded parts. The resistance to corrosion and abrasion makes EN suitable for such applications as engineering, aerospace, the oil and gas industry, and the chemical industry.

Prodigy Surface Tech plates high purity electroless nickel and we specialize in nickel boron. We have extensive experience with EN systems including pure nickel capabilities. Our electroless nickel boron is especially suitable for brazing, bonding, and soldering.
